Cathy Grosvenor of Rand Aid said office staff have been finding it difficult to get around the village to attend to various matters in the cottages and apartments, due to the size of the property.
“The golf cart will help ensure staff are in a better position to deliver an efficient and effective service to the residents. It will therefore make life much easier for the staff members of the Rand Aid Association retirement village,” said Cathy.
Although primarily for the staff, the golf cart will be used to transport residents under certain circumstances as well.

“As a result of the coronavirus, residents are encouraged to order their groceries rather than risk physical shopping.
“These groceries are delivered to the office which becomes problematic for residents without cars. The golf cart will be so handy in transporting these residents’ purchases back to their homes,” said village manager Jenny Tonkin.
The residents have been asked to forward names for the golf cart.
“Many of the golf carts on the various Rand Aid properties have names. The Elphin Lodge’s office cart is called the Green Mamba and the village golf cart is Elfie. The golf cart used by Thornhill Manor is the Wellness Wagon and the Tarentaal Village’s golf cart is Zorro,” said Cathy.
