Hisense recently stepped up to the plate and lent a hand to those in need when it donated 40 smart TVs to Edenvale based NPO Children of the Dawn.
Located on the corner of Voortrekker Avenue and Second Street, the NPO provides care and support to 826 orphaned and vulnerable children.
The donation of the 32-inch smart TVs was made to give learners access to educational apps.

“With this donation, we were able to provide our eight centres and partners with access to smart TVs, allowing our children to continue with their education,” said Nabila Noor Mahomed, national project manager at Children of the Dawn.
Jerry Liu, Hisense global general manager assistant, Hisense Middle East and Africa general manager, said although the virus has impacted learning, learners are eager to continue their studies.
“Since the outbreak of Covid-19, technology has been a great enabler for connections, communications, work and learning during the lockdown,” said Jerry.
“We wanted needy children to be able to connect with what they love, which is learning.”
