Greenstone resident arrested for the possession of suspected narcotics

The suspected narcotics were seized for further investigation and to be identified by police experts.

A Greenstone resident was arrested for the possession of suspected narcotics with an estimated street value of R50 000.

The 54-year-old man was arrested on January 26 when Edenvale SAPS sector managers executed an integrated intelligence-driven operation at a townhouse complex.

Edenvale SAPS spokesperson Sgt Jacob Mashile said the officers received a tip-off about narcotics being stored in the complex.

“While searching inside the wardrobe, the officers found a box which contained the suspected narcotics,” said Mashile.

He said the suspect will face charges of being in the possession of an illegal substance at Edenvale Magistrate’s Court soon.

Edenvale SAPS acting station commander Lt Col Eunice Nzusa applauded all members involved for a job well done.
