An Edenvale Lions Basketball Academy (ELBA) player aims for the hoop during a practice match the academy recently played.

Members of the Edenvale Lions Basketball Academy (ELBA) took the opportunity to hone their skills when they played a practice match on August 21 at the Edenvale Sports Grounds.

ELBA, which attracts players from Germiston, Kempton Park, Thembisa, Alexandra and the suburbs of the greater Joburg East area, is one of the only established basketball academies in Ekurhuleni with its own court.

Its members train on Saturday mornings with coach Webster Nzivimbo and co-founders and coaches Byron Pinheiro and Edson Makavan.
