Bedford Centre seeks budding artists

The competition is open to young artists aged five to 19 years old.

The Bedford Centre School Art Competition has kicked off and here is what you need to know.

The competition is open to young artists aged five to 19 years old.

This is a competition for all learners in and around Bedfordview and aims to showcase local artistic talent.

Entrants stand a chance to win incredible prizes sponsored by Bedford Centre and PNA for themselves and their school.

Additionally, art entrants between the ages of 17-19 can walk away with an R30 000 bursary sponsored by Oakfields College.

The top three entrants for each age category will feature as part of the Bedford School Art Competition Exhibition from October 22 to 29 where the public will have their chance to vote for a winner.

The competition will feature five categories divided into three primary school age groups of 5-7, 8-10, 11-13 years old and two high school categories of 14-16 and 17-19 years old.

How to enter:
• Pick up an entry form at the Bedford Centre information kiosk or email sharne.bodenstein@epsgroup.co.za
• Create an art piece on the A3 entry page under the theme, “Come Home To Bedford”.
• The Bedford Centre logo must be included in the artwork submitted.
• Entries must be submitted by 18:00 on Tuesday, October 12 at the Bedford Centre information kiosk.

The entries will be judged by a selected panel of judges from The Art Window, Bedford Centre Management, and independent local artists.

Winners in each category will receive various prizes including a Bedford Centre voucher to the value of R1 000.

Winners will also be featured in the Bedfordview and Edenvale News.
