Fatima Pilgrimage to take place
This year marks 30 years since the first pilgrimage, which took place in 1992 with only about 50 young people from the parish youth group at the time.

After two years of lockdown, the annual Fatima pilgrimage hosted by the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Malvern East will take place on May 14.

The event will start at 18:30. This year marks 30 years since the first pilgrimage with only about 50 young people from the parish youth group joining at the time.
The pilgrimage on foot celebrates the apparitions of the Mother of Jesus to three shepherd children in the hamlet of Fatima in Portugal.
To mark these Marian apparitions, the Blessed Sacrament parish in Malvern East, led by Parish priest Fr Andrew Knott OMI, will undertake a pilgrimage on foot.
The route that pilgrims will take will be different from previous years. The pilgrimage will start and conclude at the church.
The church is situated at the corner of Geldenhuis and Mullins roads, Malvern East.
