“It wasn’t difficult to get started with so much support from our parents and family believing in us."
In just one year, Linksfield residents and siblings Jayden (14) and Cami Myers (12) grew a hobby into a business.

The teenagers began their endeavour when Cami asked her mom to buy her some beads and some letters so she could do beading at home for fun.
“The first bracelets I made were for my mom and dad and said ‘Best Mom’ and ‘Best Dad’, and they loved them and never took them off,” explained Cami.
Jayden then joined in, and the pair made bracelets for the whole family.

“We sold them for a cheap price.
“The response was so positive and encouraging that we decided to turn it into a business,” said Cami.

Jayden said that from a young age, he was always trying to start a business.
“I would sell pictures to the family that I coloured in or collect a bunch of things around the house that I thought we didn’t need and ask my mom if I could sell them. That didn’t go so well.”

He said he always loved the idea of selling things and making money to save.
“I just needed the right product, and thanks to Cami, we finally found something that we both thought could work.”
The duo said when they decided to start their business, their mom Nadine supported them and offered to buy all their stock to get them started.
She told the children that if they made any money, they could refund her.
“It wasn’t difficult to get started with so much support from our parents and family believing in us,” said Cami and Jayden.
Jayden said although there wasn’t a business plan when he and his sister started, they ran all their ideas past their parents.
“They guided us with every question and idea we had and gave us an adult’s point of view because we didn’t want to only sell to kids,” he said.

Cami said after starting their business, the response from the community was positive.
“People loved the name of our business and thought we were talented and creative,” she said.
Initially advertised on Facebook, Nadine helped the teens to market their goods by creating an Instagram page and applying to vendors.
Jayden and Cami said besides making some pocket money, they enjoy seeing how happy the items they produce make people.
Through their business, they hope to continue making people happy.
Since starting their journey, the duo said the best part was attending various markets and seeing interest from the community.
“We thought some people would think we are just kids and not give us a chance, but no one has ever doubted us.”
