Bedfordview police bust alleged drug dealer in shack raid
A man was arrested in Bedfordview after police discovered suspected drugs, cash, and syringes during a raid on informal structures in a bushy area on Oxford Road.
Members of the SAPS, Gauteng Traffic Wardens, and Crime Prevention Wardens acted on a tip-off about a man allegedly selling drugs in Bedfordview.
The team conducted a targeted operation on Oxford Road, near a bushy area, where they discovered four informal structures (shacks).
Upon searching the premises, officers found a male suspect in possession of suspected drugs, cash, and syringes.

“When questioned, the individual admitted to selling the substances on behalf of another person,” said Sergeant Lillian Modiga, Bedfordview SAPS communication officer.
The suspect was arrested on the scene and detained at Bedfordview Police Station for further investigation on August 6.
“This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to clamp down on drug-related crime in the Bedfordview area,” Modiga added.
