Six arrested as Ekurhuleni police seize drugs worth R9 000
EMPD officers confiscated mandrax, dagga and crystal meth during targeted operations across the metro.
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) arrested six suspects and confiscated drugs worth more than R9 000 during recent operations across the metro.
Officers from the EMPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit and Community Liaison Unit carried out targeted operations between March 9 and 14 in an effort to curb drug-related crime.
Six suspects, aged between 31 and 61, were found in possession of illicit substances, including mandrax, dagga and crystal meth.

They were arrested on charges of possession and possible dealing.
The EMPD said the operations form part of ongoing efforts to tackle drug-related crime and improve community safety across Ekurhuleni.
Authorities added that enforcement actions will continue as part of efforts to remove illegal substances from communities and hold offenders accountable.
