Woman shot in targeted attack on N3 underpass as police open attempted murder case

A female motorist remains in critical but stable condition after being shot multiple times at the Boeing Road N3 underpass, with police investigating an attempted murder case.

Gauteng police have confirmed they are investigating an attempted murder docket following the shooting of a female motorist on March 30.

Police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza said no arrests have been made at this stage.

The woman was critically injured after being shot multiple times at the Boeing Road N3 underpass in what authorities believe may have been a targeted attack.

Bedfordview’s RAG Security responded to reports of a shooting at about 07:25, where officers found the victim with three gunshot wounds.

Emergency services, including SAPS and ambulance crews, were immediately dispatched and secured the scene.
The victim was transported to hospital and is reported to be in a critical but stable condition.

Initial information suggests the attack may have been planned, although the motive remains unknown.

RAG Security commended its response officers for their swift action, noting that they provided on-site medical assistance and coordinated with emergency responders during the first hour after the incident.

Authorities believe the woman may have been followed from Disa Road.
