Ekurhuleni puts R10m price tag on Bedfordview pipeline project
The Bedfordview asbestos-cement pipeline replacement project still in stage three of six, is estimated to consist of professional fees to the figure of R10m.
The city of Ekurhuleni acknowledged that the asbestos-cement (AC) pipeline replacement project in Bedfordview is estimated to cost R10 m in professional fees for all six stages.
This came in response to questions asked about recurring pipe bursts on Florence Avenue, as reported on September 21.
In the metro’s response, spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said the six stages are standard professional engineering services required for the replacement project.

Dlamini said the city submitted a list of old AC pipelines in need of replacement.
