As an NPO they rely on donations and fundraising events to raise capital to continue providing services to their benefactors.

Founder of the Little Fishes Swimming School Bedfordview and Cross the Line running series, Kate Wood, said she was introduced to the foundation by a friend.

She has since managed to raise about 20 000 for the foundation.

“We decided that since there’s so much good they are doing they are well deserving for us to raise funds for them.

“Between the school and the running series we were able to raise funds,” she explained.

The event, Thank You for the Music – an ABBA and Queen Tribute will take place on October 22.

Media liaison officer for the foundation, Edzisani Luvhengo said food is not included and that attendees can bring their own picnic baskets excluding alcohol.
