WATCH: Residents protest for poor service delivery at Ekurhuleni council

Locals gathered in scores to express their anger and frustration amidst the declining services in the City.

Residents gathered outside the Ekurhuleni council chambers this morning, Tuesday, March 12 in protest of deteriorating service delivery in Ekurhuleni.

Residents have also demanded that executive mayor Sivuyile Ngodwana step down from his position.

According to the journalist, Busi Valakazi, council proceedings planned for today included the resumption of the previous meeting that collapsed following a motion of no confidence brought against the mayor and the presentation of the Auditor General’s report.

Around an hour ago numerous councillors could be seen sitting outside the council chambers after a 30 minute recess washttps://youtu.be/V37WoMhKdSc called.

During the recess angry residents have demanded that the Speaker of Council, Nthabiseng Tshivhenga address them and accept their memorandum.

The meeting has resumed in the chambers.
