Melville Koppies hosts Easter egg hunt on March 31
Parking is available opposite the entrance to the Koppies at Marks Park Sports Club in Judith Road, Emmarentia.
“If you are wondering how to entertain your young ones and the not-so-young on Easter Sunday, visit Melville Koppies Nature Reserve for an Easter egg hunt,” said Jenny Grice, a volunteer at Melville Koppies.
“Look for the gold ‘ribbons’, the leaves of some grasses that resemble gold ‘ribbons’ at Easter time. Pick one and bring it to the reception hut, where it will be exchanged for an Easter egg.”
The Easter hunt will be on March 31, from 8:00 to 11:30.

Only one ribbon per child, family member or visitor will be allowed.
Grice said volunteers cannot hide chocolate eggs in the reserve because the creatures who live there will get confused about exotic invaders in their territory.
“If Easter eggs are not your thing, all the other activities are still available,” said Grice.
This includes a 5km hike, a self-guided heritage trail or enjoy the magnificent views and wide open spaces.
Book a guided tour starting at 08:00.
