Players have a blast at St Andrew’s netball festival
“Throughout the four days of exhilarating netball action, a total of 3,520 goals were scored, showcasing the skill and dedication of the participating teams,' said school marketer, Brandon Townsend.
St Andrew’s School for Girls recently celebrated the 20th edition of their highly-anticipated 1st Team Netball Festival, held from April 4 to 7.
The festival, which has become a recognised event in the school’s calendar, featured an impressive line-up of 32 schools, including four new teams and 12 travelling teams.
“This makes it a truly memorable occasion for all involved,” said the school’s marketer, Brandon Townsend.

“Throughout the four days of exhilarating netball action, 3 520 goals were scored, showcasing the skill and dedication of the participating teams.
“The festival not only provided a platform for fierce competition but also fostered camaraderie and sportsmanship among players, coaches, and supporters alike.
“Thank you to the head coach of the SPAR Women’s Netball team, Jenny van Dyk, for coming out and giving all the girls some words of encouragement,” added Townsend.
The school also thanked and acknowledged the tournament sponsors.

Reddam House Bedfordview won the championship trophy and Amarachi Obiedelu from Holy Rosary was named player of the festival.
