Jeppe learner to compete in Ireland

This series is a key step in the team’s preparation for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

The rise of women in sport has been a phenomenon gaining significant traction in recent years with many female teams rivalling the success of their male counterparts.

Jeppe High School for Girls and the Jeppe community at large are extremely proud that one of their own sportswomen and first team cricket players, Grade 11 learner Fay Cowling, has been selected for the South African U19 Women’s cricket squad.

This 15-women squad will play in the Youth T20 International Series against Ireland.

The series will run from October 28 to November 1 at the Tshwane Oval.

This series is a key step in the team’s preparation for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in 2025, set to be hosted in Malaysia.

Confident in Cowling’s abilities, Jeppe High School for Girls stated that she will carry the school spirit high, making not only Jeppe High School for Girls proud but her country as well.
