Italian Sporting Club marks 75th anniversary

Founded in 1949, the Italian Sporting Club this year celebrates its 75th anniversary.

To commemorate this milestone, it held the Festival Italiano over two days during Heritage Week on September 28 and 29.

The celebrations included a line-up of SA artists and international Italian X Factor winner Lozreno Licitra, who entertained the attendees as they enjoyed the Italian and SA gastronomic delicacies and thirst quenchers.

The fashion marquee was a fabulous shopping experience, with beautiful fashions and handmade artefacts.

Over 50 vendors, music, a magnificent safe and secure children’s zone and a rugby big-screen TV for the game between SA and Argentina made for a memorable weekend.

Given its huge success, the Italian Sporting Club plans to host the Festival Italiano annually.
