Edenvale Senior Citizens Society hosts Halloween-themed lunch

The members were encouraged to dress up for the occasion.”

Dressed in their spookiest costumes, the Edenvale Senior Citizens Society (ESCS) members had a Halloween-themed lunch on October 31 at the Edenvale Community Centre.

Committee member Linda Ranwell said the event was well attended, with 65 seniors enjoying a three-course meal with tea or coffee.

“The members were encouraged to dress up for the occasion and quite a few ladies responded, wearing some amazing costumes. One lady even brought a broomstick with her,” said Ranwell.

During November, the ESCS will not host a special lunch because preparations for its morning market are underway.

The market will be at the Edenvale Community Centre on November 23.

Ranwell said a variety of items would be on offer to buy, including but not limited to, clothes, plants, jewellery, toys, kitchenware and more.

The kitchen will serve curry and rice, bacon rolls, cupcakes, tea, coffee and cold drinks.

The ESCS appeals to the community to support its market.
