Small truck collides with stationary vehicle, killing driver on impact
Two lanes of N12 remain closed and motorists are urged to use alternative routes.
A driver was killed in a collision involving two trucks on the N12 East near the Edenvale Road on-ramp earlier today.
The incident occurred between an articulated truck and a smaller vehicle on the stretch of highway between the Edenvale Road on-ramp and Kraft Road off-ramp.

According to William Ntladi, spokesperson for Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS), the emergency was logged shortly after 11:00 AM.
“On arrival, it was reported that the articulated truck was stationary prior to the collision.
The smaller truck collided with the stationary vehicle, killing the driver instantly,” Ntladi said.
The driver of the stationary truck escaped without injuries.

Rescuers used hydraulic tools, including the Jaws of Life, to recover the deceased driver from the wreckage. Paramedics declared the individual dead on the scene.
Law enforcement officials are investigating the incident.
The two left lanes of the freeway remain closed for operational purposes, and motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays.
