Other contributors include Shosholoza Finance, IPM, BIC, and various community members who made monetary donations.

In January, a total of 600 stationery packs were distributed to learners of various grades and schools in the Greater Germiston and Bedfordview areas.

“Bedford Centre assisted with collection boxes, provided by PNA, in which community members placed stationery and back-to-school items in support of the stationery drive,” said Carolyn Williams, a member of The VE Group.

“Over December and January, with the help of BCPF, we created awareness around the initiative and the assistance the Victim Empowerment Group and the Child Guardian Unit provide to the community.

“We are grateful to all the community members who took time to talk to us and support our stationery drive,” Williams said.

“From January 27, we handed out our stationery packs, which contain a pencil case, ruler, glue stick, pens, pencils, pencil crayons, eraser, and sharpener, to learners at Klopperpark Primary School, Bedfordview Primary School, and various individuals in the community who needed assistance,” Williams concluded.
