Better Bedfordview hosts fundraiser with movie night on March 14

All proceeds from the Movie Night will go towards Better Bedfordview’s cleanups and neighbourhood improvement initiatives, and to support the team of previously unemployed people working for Better Bedfordview.

Community cleanup non-profit organisation Better Bedfordview will host a fundraising movie night on March 14 at Glendower Golf Club.

Residents are invited to buy tickets for the event to enjoy a fun-filled evening watching a movie under the stars.

This will support Better Bedfordview’s work to clean up, restore and maintain roads, pavements, parks and public spaces.

The movie night will feature the romantic comedy The Proposal, starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.

Attendees are advised to bring chairs and blankets. Tickets cost R130 each and include a free popcorn.

The Tee Bar and Grill at Glendower Golf Club will be offering a delicious takeaway menu for the night and drinks will also be on sale.

The movie night will start at 18:00, with the movie set to begin after sunset.

Space is limited, so residents are urged to book their tickets quickly by making payment to Better Bedfordview and emailing the proof of payment and their contact details (name and cellphone number) to lola@betterbedfordview.org.za.

In addition to raising funds for Better Bedfordview, the evening includes a donation drive in aid of Bez Valley Feeding Scheme for the Homeless.

The NPO is appealing to everyone who attends the movie night to bring perishable food items to donate to help the homeless, including:
• Canned goods like baked beans, canned soup, tuna, sardines and corned beef.
• Dried goods like rice, pasta, samp, lentils, split peas.
• Instant foods like noodles, oats, maize meal and porridge sachets.
• Long-life milk and powdered milk.
• Peanut butter and jam.
There will also be a raffle on the evening, with great prizes up for grabs.

“This is a chance for residents to come together as a community, enjoy a lovely evening outdoors and contribute to making Bedfordview better to benefit everyone,” said Better Bedfordview chairperson Marina Constas.
