Residents enjoy movie night under stars by Better Bedfordview
The evening also included a donation drive to collect food for the homeless and destitute.
Residents came together at Glendower Golf Club on March 14 to enjoy a movie night under the stars hosted by Better Bedfordview, a community cleanup NPO.
This annual fundraiser, which was held for the second time this year, supports Better Bedfordview’s mission to clean up, restore and maintain Bedfordview’s roads, pavements, parks and public spaces.
Better Bedfordview chairperson Marina Constas said the movie night was a huge success.

“We couldn’t have asked for better weather and a more perfect, moonlit night to get together as a community to make magical memories and make a difference in our neighbourhood!”
Constas thanked everyone who attended the event and participated in the raffle.
The evening also included a donation drive to collect food for the homeless and destitute.
“Thank you to everyone who generously donated food and cash for ‘The Children of God’ Bez Valley feeding scheme. Your support will make a real difference in the lives of those in need.”
She also commended the caring local businesses that got involved in the Better Bedfordview movie night by donating raffle prizes and sponsoring items, including free popcorn, to add to the evening’s fun and festivity.
“We appreciate their partnership and commitment to Better Bedfordview and our community,” she said.
All the funds raised by Better Bedfordview’s movie night under the stars will be used by the NPO for community cleanups and neighbourhood improvement projects.

While improving and maintaining the area, Better Bedfordview is also creating employment for youth and previously unemployed South Africans.
There are currently 24 people working in Better Bedfordview’s cleanup team.
Better Bedfordview depends on funding from residents and businesses.
