Body of man found in Edenglen in January remains unclaimed

According to Edenvale SAPS Detective Warrant Officer Frans Nakedi Madibana, the body of a white male was found near a perimeter wall of a property on January 19.

After the body of an unknown man was found in Edenglen, more information about the deceased has come to light following further investigation.

According to Edenvale SAPS Detective Warrant Officer Frans Nakedi Madibana, the body of a white male was found near a perimeter wall of a property on January 19.

Originally suspected to be between the ages of 45 and 55, it was believed the man was ill shortly before he died.

Madibana said the deceased had no identifiable features such as tattoos and scars, and the police had no description of the clothes he wore.

He said after analysing the deceased’s fingerprints it was determined that the name of the deceased is Rudolph Phillipus Strydom.

Originally from Mpumalanga, the man was 50 years old at the time of his death.

The first six digits of his ID number are 751002.

Presently, the body is at Germiston Mortuary.

Madibana said it is unknown if the deceased was an Edenvale resident or lived in a neighbouring town but it is suspected the man moved between Edenvale, Boksburg and Benoni.

Presently police are still trying to locate and trace the relatives of the deceased.
