Jeppe High learner shows off football talent

Earlier this year Samkelisiwe Mthembu, a Grade 10 learner from Jeppe High School for Girls, represented South Africa in the U17 National Football Training Camp.

While at the camp, Samkelisiwe earned two caps in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

She played a crucial role in the team’s two victories against Gabon, winning 12-1 and 9-1 in the away and home games.

Although the team faced a tough challenge against Nigeria, Jeppe High School for Girls is proud of Samkelisiwe for her achievements and for representing Jeppe on the international stage.
