Better Edenvale launches spring projects to beautify Edenvale CBD and streets

The initiative aims to boost community pride, safety, and the town’s overall appeal this spring.

Volunteer-led community improvement NPO Better Edenvale has welcomed the spring season by kicking off several projects to refresh and beautify the Edenvale central business district and surrounds.

The faded and rusty steel fencing on Van Riebeeck Avenue has been restored and repainted by Better Edenvale.

New plants have been added to the area around the Edenvale Civic Centre while waterwise plants have been bought to green and beautify streets around the town.

“There’s nothing like a fresh coat of paint and lush, green plants to brighten our public spaces and lift everyone’s spirits,” said Better Edenvale director Clayton Risk.

“It’s about more than just cleaning up and maintaining Edenvale.

“It’s about rebuilding pride in our town, street by street. Spring is the perfect time for new beginnings and fresh starts, and we are turning that spirit into action.”

Better Edenvale has also been working on the pothole problem in Edenvale and, to date, 17 potholes in Van Riebeeck Avenue have been repaired.

“Fixing potholes ahead of the summer rains is critical to keep all road users safe,” Risk added.

Better Edenvale’s work has got the attention of residents, with social media users praising the improvements. Iris Milne commented:

“Awesome job, thanks for keeping our roads safe!”

“This is fantastic! All who are involved with fixing Edenvale, I salute you,” said Vicky Turnbull.

Erika Norman commented: “Love the fresh new look!”

Lourens Grobler expressed his gratitude to “the incredible team that continues to pour so much love, time and effort into uplifting the Edenvale community”.

“Because of you, hope is restored, lives are touched and Edenvale is a better place to call home,” he wrote.

“We appreciate every word of support and encouragement,” said Risk.

“As volunteers, giving our time freely to make Edenvale better, it means the world to us to hear that residents are noticing the difference.

“Every comment, like and share on social media means more people know about Better Edenvale’s good work,” said Risk.
