Carina Nel empowers aspiring actors at Reddam House drama workshop
Reddam House Bedfordview learners got a first-hand look at what it takes to succeed in the entertainment industry, with a hands-on workshop.
The Rising Stars Drama Club hosted a drama workshop at Reddam House Bedfordview at the BCC Campus featuring SA actress Carina Nel, famous for her roles in Queen of Katwe, Generations and 7de Laan.
Organised by former drama teacher Caron Kleynhans and current drama teacher Charlene Bender, the workshop aimed to allow young learners to develop essential acting skills while building their confidence and communication abilities.
Kleynhans spoke about the significance of the event, “Young learners need to be exposed to professionals like Carina.

“Not only do they learn acting techniques, but they also gain a deeper understanding of the industry and what it takes to succeed if they one day venture into acting.”
Bender added, “This workshop is a fantastic chance for our learners to push themselves beyond their comfort zones, whether through improvisation, script work or vocal exercises. It’s all about nurturing their creativity and helping them grow as individuals.”

Nel concluded, “Working with young talent is a rewarding experience. It’s amazing to see their passion and enthusiasm for acting, and I’m thrilled to share some of my experiences with them.
“These workshops are an important stepping stone essential on and off the stage.”
