Two seriously injured in truck collision on N3 near Bedfordview
The EMPD confirmed that two people sustained serious injuries following a collision involving two trucks on the N3 northbound near Van Buuren Road yesterday.
The EMPD confirmed that two people were seriously injured in a truck collision on the N3 northbound, just after the Van Buuren Road off-ramp, yesterday afternoon.
According to the EMPD, the accident involved two heavy-duty trucks, leaving both drivers trapped in the wreckage.

Emergency medical services, including an air ambulance, were called to assist with the rescue and treatment of the injured.

“The freeway was temporarily closed to allow the medical helicopter to land safely and for paramedics to stabilise the patients before transport,” said the EMPD.
Traffic on the busy N3 route was severely affected, with motorists advised to use alternative routes, such as the Van Buuren Road off-ramp, while emergency operations were underway. The roadway has since reopened.
The EMPD thanked motorists for their patience during the rescue and recovery operation and reiterated the importance of exercising caution on the roads.
“Drivers are urged to stay alert, maintain safe following distances and reduce speed during wet or congested conditions,” the department said.
Further investigations into the cause of the collision are ongoing.
