EMPD impounds eight trailers for by-law contraventions in Ekurhuleni

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) recently impounded eight trailers during by-law enforcement operations targeting unlawful advertising and related offences.

The EMPD has impounded eight trailers during by-law enforcement operations conducted across the city.

The operations targeted trailers found to be in contravention of municipal regulations, particularly those used for unauthorised advertising and related activities.

Officers from the EMPD Towing Unit urged business owners to ensure compliance with municipal by-laws and to obtain the required approvals before displaying advertisements. Failure to comply may result in impoundment, fines or further enforcement action.

“The EMPD remains committed to upholding city by-laws and maintaining order, safety and compliance throughout Ekurhuleni,” an EMPD spokesperson said.

The enforcement forms part of the department’s ongoing efforts to ensure business activities operate within the law and contribute to a safe and orderly environment for residents.
