Schools from across the region gathered in Bedfordview for two days of high-energy matches and fierce competition.

Over 60 teams from various schools descended on Bedfordview for a weekend of rugby and netball when Saheti School hosted its annual Saheti Sevens Festival.

Held at the end of February, the tournament brought together 30 rugby teams and 36 netball teams competing in the U16 and open (17–18) age groups.

The rugby tournament delivered intense contests over the weekend, with teams showcasing skill, determination and sportsmanship on the field.

Tournament director of rugby, Marceau Alberts, said the event was a success, highlighting both the competitive nature of the matches and the strong sense of community among the teams.

“The rugby went very well. There were fierce battles on the field and great friendships formed off the field,” Alberts said.

“The teams brought fantastic energy and competitiveness, which contributed to a successful festival.”

The first day of the tournament was brought to a halt with a brief interruption due to lightning, but once the all-clear was given, matches resumed and continued in the same spirited manner.
