Community turns out in support of Brainy Birds market in Edenglen

Founder of the organisation Dee Hendricks explained that the market did exceptionally well.

Non-profit animal welfare organisation Brainy Birds Parrot Rescue and Rehabilitation recently hosted a market, where community members enjoyed a day in the sun.

Hosted on May 9 at the organisation’s Edenglen property, the market saw community members from far and wide come together and enjoy a day out.

Founder of the organisation, Dee Hendrickx, explained that the market did exceptionally well.

“Over the years, as Brainy Birds has grown, so have the markets. We are attracting more community members as well as more vendors to the markets,” she explained.

Dee said that greater community attendance leads to greater support, which helps the organisation cover its overhead costs.

At the end of July, Brainy Birds will be hosting another market.

It will be Durban July themed, and Dee highlighted that there will be prizes for the best Durban July outfit of the day.
