Motorists are urged to remain on high alert after a video showing a vehicle with a shattered windscreen on the N12 near Gillooly's sparked concerns over alleged rock-throwing incidents.
Motorists have been urged to remain vigilant after a video surfaced showing a vehicle with a shattered windscreen after rocks were allegedly thrown at it while travelling on the N12 eastbound.
In the video, the vehicle is travelling on the N12 eastbound between the Gillooly’s (George Bizos) Interchange and the Germiston off-ramp.

The incident has raised serious safety concerns, as rocks thrown at moving vehicles can cause extensive damage, serious injuries or even fatal crashes. Road users travelling through the area are urged to exercise extreme caution.

Stay alert and be aware of their surroundings.
Reduce speed where it is safe to do so.
Maintain a safe following distance from other vehicles.
Avoid stopping in unsafe areas if their vehicle is struck, and report the incident to the nearest police station or emergency services as soon as it is safe.
The Bedfordview SAPS has been approached for comment and has yet to confirm whether a case has been opened in connection with the incident.
