Little Wish Foundation launches Meal in a Jar initiative
“Every jar can help provide a warm, filling meal to someone who needs it."
The Little Wish Foundation NPC is calling on residents of Edenvale and surrounding communities to get behind its newly launched Meal in a Jar initiative.
The initiative aims to provide warm, filling meals to families facing difficult times.
The programme officially launched at the end of August after making a delivery to a local family.

The initiative is now appealing to community members to help keep the programme going by filling a jar with four basic ingredients: pasta, lentils, gravy powder and soya mince.
According to one of the foundation’s directors, Peter Rex, each completed jar can help provide a warm and filling meal to someone in need.
He explained that the initiative will serve families in Edenvale and surrounding communities, extending into Boksburg, with the foundation hoping to reach more households through continued community support.
The first delivery demonstrated how a simple community contribution can be turned into practical assistance for a local family.

The foundation is encouraging residents, families, schools, businesses and community organisations to consider filling a jar and contributing to the initiative.

The Little Wish Foundation NPC also said donors who make qualifying donations may receive a Section 18A donation certificate, where applicable.
The certificate can be used as supporting documentation when claiming a tax deduction from SARS.
For the foundation, the initiative is about more than providing food.
It hopes to bring support, dignity and hope to families in the community, one meal at a time.
