I need to have the trees trimmed because the branches are brittle and may pose a problem if the winds pick up again.
The former owners advised me that they, as the owners, were not permitted to cut the trees down themselves, using a reputable company and if they did, a fine could be imposed.
I see that some people in my street have done the felling themselves, however, I have also been told that this has cost anything between R10 000 and R14 000, which, as a single parent, I cannot afford.
I called the Ekurhuleni Call Centre on Monday on 086 054 3000 and was referred to 011 828-1105.
This number remains engaged up until now.
I then logged a call online and received an automated email with a reference number.
There is no indication as to when I could receive a call, or whether the council are looking into the matter.
It is very frustrating and I actually do not know what else to do.
