Peak hour learner drivers infuriate

I have been behind these learner drivers at stop streets and the longest I have had to wait was six minutes.

EDITOR – I travel frequently on First Avenue, Edenvale, and Elm Street in Dowerglen.

Often, at peak times prior to 7am and at 4pm, there is a youngster out for what appears to be their first ever driving lesson. While I am sympathetic to learner drivers, we all started somewhere, I cannot understand the logic of trying to teach someone in peak hour traffic.

I have been behind these learner drivers at stop streets and the longest I have had to wait was six minutes. Yesterday, I had a three minute, per stop-street, wait.

I am appealing to all driving schools, show both your student and the other road users some consideration. Help your learner feel confident behind the wheel, not a nervous wreck. If it is one of their first times driving, please stay off the busy main routes, especially at peak times. It is dangerous with other road users trying to get around the slow obstruction.
