GLRU’s Tessner takes to the field

Besides completing her women's plate final, Tessner is also the assistant referee for South Africa National Rugby Sevens Team at their practise games.

Temicka Tessner, the youngest Goldens Lions Rugby Union referee, is back on the field following Covid-19 restrictions.
Tessner, a Grade 12 learner from Edenvale High School, was recently appointed to ref the women’s league division after she completed her women’s plate final earlier this year.
Besides completing her women’s plate final, Tessner is also the assistant referee for South Africa National Rugby Sevens Team at their practise games.
In addition to assisting the Blitz Bokke, Tessner manages women’s rugby at the Wasps Rugby Club in Edenvale.
Tessner’s mum, Colleen, said she has come far in her refereeing career. Her goal is to one day be a member of the South African Rugby Football Union (SARFU) panel and run a women’s rugby side.
