“She is hardworking and passionate,” said her parents, Bruce and Suzaan.
“She has a great passion for cricket, and her motto is that cricket is her life.”
According to Suzaan, her daughter was inspired by her brother, who taught her how to play cricket.
“That is when she decided that cricket was what she wanted to do and would love to follow in her brother’s footsteps. She is only 11, and will be playing against teams with women aged 17,” she said.
The mother said Bruzaan’s dream was to become one of the best in the women’s cricket team.
She said her daughter’s hard work and effort ensured her selection to the SA Junior Ladies team.

“My daughter is a great cricket player. She has had excellent games and taken several wickets against much older players.
“As parents, we are proud of her and will always support her. She inspires us because she is still young and has already won the team award for the most valuable player,” beamed Suzaan.
She added that since her daughter will represent SA at the Juniors World Series in Dubai in September, they will host a boxing match in the hopes of raising funds so her daughter’s dream can come true.

The boxing match on May 6 will take place at Pitstop Carwash Pub and Grill in Bredell.
“We are hosting the boxing match to help us to raise funds.”
According to Brandon Sweetnam, who is helping Bruzaan’s parents to raise funds, the boxing day will feature nine bouts, two title fights and two slap fights.
“The slap fight is part of my event to attract spectators, and, hopefully, I get people to donate or sponsor Bruzaan,” said Sweetnam.
He said that people who attended would meet South African legend Jan Bergman and former WBU and WBC World champion Barend van Rooyen.
Suzaan said this was a fantastic opportunity for her daughter to make her dreams come true and open more doors for her in future.
“As parents, we would appreciate any contributions to make our girl’s dream come true,” she said.
