Local gymnasts shine on national stage
With 40 medalists the event saw the club secure an impressive haul of medals, showcasing the dedication and talent of the young athletes.
Gymnasts from the Masters Gymnasts Club excelled when they took to the national stage.
Club members achieved success at the recent National Championships Gym Games 2024 held in Cape Town where they showcased dedication and talent.
With 40 medalists the event saw the club secure an impressive haul of medals, showcasing the dedication and talent of the young athletes.

In the trampoline events, Masters Gymnasts claimed a total of nine medals.
These included two gold, three silver, three bronze and an eighth-place finish.
Not to be outdone the acrobatic gymnasts shone brightly, bringing home 16 medals.
These included 10 gold, two silver, and three bronze, as well as a fourth and fifth-place finish.
In the acrobatic gymnasts category, the results are calculated per pair or trio and not per individual medal received.
Some of the club’s gymnasts included the trio of Dene Grevensteyn, Mackenzie McKay, and Bailey Mare who were crowned South African Champions in Level 12.

Grevensteyn, McKay and Mare held the same title last year in Level 9. Their success showcases continuous improvement and commitment to excellence.
The ladies’ pair of Siphesihle Khumalo and Mawande Khumalo clinched the South African Champions title in Level 11.
Last year the duo won the champions title in Level 9.
Their performances solidified their status as rising stars in the gymnast community.
The championships saw two new high-performance trios emerge from the club.
Madison Carletti, Sabrina Peleias and Kiara Watt stole the spotlight in Level 9 as did the Level 7 Trio, Tianna Machet, Mawande Khumalo and Siphesihle Khumalo.
The coaching team at Masters Gymnasts Club continues to inspire and nurture the talents of gymnasts across all levels.
With a strong emphasis on discipline, skill development, and a passion for trampoline and acrobatic gymnastics, the coaches provide opportunities for children interested in these disciplines.
While Masters Gymnasts Club celebrates its athletes’ accomplishments at the National Championships the club is poised for continued success in the years to come.
