Edenvale boxer beats rival in the ring

The fighters treated fans to an entertaining bout with the judges scoring the fight in Phiri’s favour.

Edenvale boxer Ndabazinhle Phiri went toe-to-toe against Enathi Stella during a development tournament bill at Emperors Palace.

Held on March 2 the tournament was presented by Golden Gloves, the junior bantamweight contest scheduled for six rounds.

Phiri, who now boxes out of the Brian Mitchell Boxing Academy in Edenvale and Enathi Stella who hails from Mdantsane but now plies his trade from Kibler Park treated fans to an entertaining fight with the judges scoring the fight in Phiri’s favour.

Phiri won on a points-based decision.

On hand to congratulate Phiri was stable mate Beavan Sibanda who was in the house to support Phiri.

Both Phiri and Sibanda were born in Zimbabwe but now train at the Brian Mitchell Boxing Academy.
