Bedfordview Bowls Club celebrates 100 years with R100k tournament
The Bedfordview Country Club Bowls section marked its centenary with a high-stakes tournament and plans for more festivities.
The Bedfordview Country Club (BCC) Bowls section celebrated its 100th anniversary in style with a R100 000 tournament held over two days, from June 29 to 30.
Dubbed the Bedfordview Open 100, the centenary tournament invited members to enter teams and compete for a share of the impressive prize pool.
Winners walked away with R40 000 for first place, R30 000 for second, R20 000 for third, and a R10 000 plate prize.

The event was a showcase of bowling talent and community spirit, highlighting the club’s enduring legacy.
As part of its continued celebrations, the club will host a Christmas in July Bowling Tournament on August 3.
Bowlers are encouraged to dress up for a fun-filled day featuring food, drinks, music, prizes, and a best dressed award.
The event kicks off at 09:00m, and all are welcome.
