Spirit of community shines bright at Riverfest and Mile Regatta hosted by the St Andrew’s School for Girls Rowing Committee at Vaal River.
The St Andrew’s School for Girls Rowing Committee hosted the second edition of the Riverfest and Mile Regatta, an event that combined the thrill of competitive rowing with the charm of a riverside festival.
The event took place on the weekend of October 11 and 12.
Held along the scenic Vaal River, the event drew an enthusiastic crowd, both to support the athletes and to enjoy the lively market atmosphere, school marketer Brandon Townsend shared.

He said spectators lined the riverbank to witness intense racing and cheer on the rowers as they delivered wonderful performances throughout the weekend.
Despite occasional showers, Townsend said the energy remained high and the spirit of community shone brightly.
The regatta proved once again to be a highlight on the rowing calendar, offering both fierce competition and a fun, family-friendly experience.
“A heartfelt thank you goes to the organising committee, sponsors, volunteers, and all supporters who made the weekend such a success,” said Townsend.
