St Andrew’s School for Girls rowers defend SA Schools Boat Race title
For the second year in a row, St Andrew’s School for Girls rowers are crowned champions at the South African Schools Boat Race.
The St Andrew’s School for Girls expressed their pride in their rowers who represented the school at the prestigious South African Schools Boat Race held in December.
School marketer Brandon Townsend shared that for the second year in a row, St Andrew’s was crowned South African Schools Boat Race Champions.
This is a remarkable achievement that reflects the dedication, discipline, and teamwork of their rowing programme.

He added that the SA Schools Boat Race is a premier annual rowing event, traditionally held over two days in early December in Port Alfred on the Kowie River.
Modelled on the iconic Oxford–Cambridge Boat Race, this highly competitive regatta brings together top school rowing crews from across the country, making victory at this event a true mark of excellence.
“Our rowers demonstrated exceptional grit, skill, and determination on the water, rising to the challenge and proudly defending their title.
“Their success is a testament not only to their hard work and commitment, but also to the guidance of their coaches and the strong culture of rowing at St Andrew’s,” Townsend said.
