Olympia FC eyes top-five finish after narrow loss in SAFA Ekurhuleni league
"Obviously we have aspirations of winning the league but it is a tough league and to finish in the top five would be a successful season."
Olympia Football Club recently faced off against VRRPHAA Nation FC when the two teams clashed in a SAFA Ekurhuleni Hollywoodbets Regional League Stream A match.
The two clubs faced off at Olympia’s home grounds at the Italian Club on January 31.
Speaking to The NEWS, Olympia FC president Giovanni Di Benedetto said he believed the club’s team was doing well in the league.

“Despite having some ups and downs with some of the games, the team is remaining consistent.
“We have a young squad. This league is a development league, so clubs are required to have a certain number of U21 players playing all the time,” he explained.
Di Benedetto said Olympia FC prides itself on having as many U21s on the field as possible.
“That is what we are here for, to develop the players.”
Speaking about the club’s hopes for the remainder of the league, Di Benedetto said he hopes that the team finishes in the top five.

Last year, the club finished in the top eight.
“We would like to better the season.
“Obviously, we have aspirations of winning the league, but it is a tough league and to finish in the top five would be a successful season.”
Despite giving it their best, Olympia lost to the visiting team 1-0.
