Coetzer was eventually caught after playing a number of good shots. The highest scorer for the Toolsaders was Robert Pettit, who scored 43 runs not out. The Toolsaders managed to score 122 runs for 4, after 20 overs.

The 69ers’ innings started slowly, with opening batsman Christopher Swanepoel scoring five runs from 10 balls. It took Michael Pretorius, who was batting at number two, to accelerate the run rate. He scored 42 runs from 25 deliveries before he was bowled. Nicholas Nel, who batted at number three, made 29 runs from 33 balls before he was run-out.

At the end of the innings, the 69ers had reached 94 runs for the loss of eight wickets, after 16.2 overs. The Toolsaders won by 28 runs.
