World champ polo players hard at work

Gauteng members of the South African Canoe Polo Squad are training regularly at Emmarentia Dam.

The Gauteng players have been selected to represent the country at the upcoming World Canoe Polo Championships in Thury-Harcourt in Normany, France, from September 22 to 28.

The training and preparation for the matches and selection takes place at the dam where a course with goalposts has been set up.

Edenvale resident, Divan Barnard, is included in the U/21 men’s squad and is looking forward to his adventure and the challenges, knowing that his standard of performance and abilities will improve noticeably as a result of exposure to international level skills.
