Olympia beats Edenvale 3-0
Had Edenvale taken their chances the result could have been different
Saturday, March 5 saw two local football teams go head to head, with Olympia winning the match 3-0.
The first teams from Edenvale Football Club and the Italian Football Club’s Olympia battled it out at the Edenvale Football Club grounds.
It was a hard game, with both teams giving it their all.
Although a number of yellow cards were issued by referee Godfrey Mahlangu and some tension was shown between the two rivals in the first half, both teams played exceptionally well, resulting in multiple goals scored by Olympia. Edenvale played hard against Olympia, and although it did not score any goals it had heart and spirit throughout the game, never giving up.
“I believe had Edenvale taken their chances the result could have been different,” said Edenvale’s coach, Mr Neil Robertson.
Robertson congratulated Olympia on a game well played. “They took their chances and took home the points.”
