Swimmers from Stoneridge based Active Aquanauts Swim School recently competed in the Steve Botha Memorial Gala.

The event was held to encourage young swimmers to enjoy themselves while competing.
“The gala let the swimmers compete without strict rules and timekeeping,” said Kate Jones from the swim school.
The gala took place on October 22 at Boksburg North Swimming Pool.
The ages of the swimmers at the gala varied between four and 13 years old.
Jones said swimmers from Active Aquanauts Swim School trained hard for the event.
“The swimmers reaped the rewards and they all won a medal or a ribbon,” said Jones.
