Second place in the Spar Women’s Challenge went to Kesa Molotsane with an impressive time of 35:07 while her fellow KPMG teammate Nolene Conrad finished with 36:19.
Conrad said the race was tougher than in previous years following her move from Johannesburg to Cape Town. The difference in altitude affected her performance but she motivated herself to get the third place.
“Well done to all the ladies,” she said.
Molotsane was crowned the overall winner of the SPAR Grand Prix, which included races in Durban and Pietermaritzburg.
The first female finisher in the 5km run was Bernedette Wilson who is 14 years old.
