Runners lace up for Edenvale Parkrun

“We hope to grow the run to about 400 participants.”

103 Runners took to field when they participated in the sixth Edenvale Parkrun.

It was held on September 29 near the corner of First Avenue and Aitken Road.

Carla Ralph, Edenvale race director said the parkrun has been successful since it was established.

She said on average 160 athletes take part in the run.

“We hope to grow the run to about 400 participants,” said Ralph.

Justin Jones was the second person to cross the finish line at the Edenvale Parkrun held on September 29. He finished in 22:40.

She said the Edenvale route differs from others in the area as it is more challenging.

Ralph said the run is very similar to a trail run.

The first three participants to cross the finish line were Nkanyezi Zwane (22:20), Justin Jones (22:40) and Nicholas Mulder (22:59).
