Edenvale bowlers take silver at national champs (VIDEO)
“It was a surreal experience to play in the nationals with my father, I couldn’t believe what we were doing.”
Father and son bowling team Gerald and Gordon May recently secured second place when they competed in the national bowling championships.
The bowlers from Edenvale Bowling Club achieved this when they competed in the finals in Lynnwood recently.
After a successful tournament, the finals saw the father-son pair face off against Wingate Park Bowling Club, which Wingate won 21-19.
Gerald, the president of the club, who has been bowling for 50 years since the age of 16 said competing in the nationals was quite an achievement for the duo and the club.
“It was a surreal experience to play in the nationals with my father, I couldn’t believe what we were doing,” said Gordon.
