Ethan is the youngest gymnast in the age group 17 to 21 out of SA boys’ team.

The path to Ethan’s success took a lot of hard training for the past couple of years.

The gymnast said he felt extremely honoured to be able to represent his country.

“I’ve had to work really hard to get to a level in which I can compete internationally.

“Thank you specifically to my coach, Dmitry Demianenko. Because of him I am able to fulfill one of my biggest goals to date,” said Strydom.

Ethan’s coach expressed that it was never a smooth ride to reach the achievement.

“We both had to catch-up the requirements of the new age group where Ethan will be competing.”

Demianenko thanked the team of coaches and officials of Gym Masters and Masters Gymnasts clubs.

“Alex Demianenko was Ethan’s first trampoline coach, as well as the number of officials who have played a role in the development of this young gymnast namely Yuri Demianenko, Michelle Sharples and Liuodmila Kerimova. We would never be such a success without them,” said the coach.
